Thursday evening, after a soccer coaches clinic, I went out with two other women coaches from our soccer club. We went to a local hole in the wall bar where they serve dollar drafts and twenty five cent hot dogs after 9. When we got there, we all had our debit cards ready to use, but this place doesn’t take them. The bartender told us we could walk “a block down the road” to the ATM. So we thought it would be a good idea to do that. Four blocks later, we were at the ATM. I was third in line to get cash and when it was my turn, I accidentally hit the “spanish” button and had to do my transaction in spanish…I don’t speak spanish and neither does Maria, the puerto rican in the group! Thank God Stacey knows spanish, she helped me.
So we trudge the four blocks back to the bar to get a beer. I went to the bathroom and came back to a cold Corona. I didn’t want one, but that’s what they ordered me, so I drank it. I decided that like Corona :) We sat and chatted for a while and laughed a lot! I drank a little more than I should have, but it’s ok, I wasn’t the driver LOL.
When I woke up this morning, I felt the effects of drinking a little more than I should’ve and I had a really busy day ahead. There was a major event on campus this afternoon and my boss was out sick and my coworker, Megan, and I had to run the show. In addition to creating some signage, running it to office max to enlarge it and bringing it back to mount it on foam core, I had to assist Megan in running a large meeting and special dedication ceremony prior to the campus event. We are a great team and pulled it all off without a hitch. I didn’t expect we wouldn’t, we rock :) We were going to go out to have a celebratory beer this evening, but we were both too exhausted. Another time though for sure.
Tomorrow, weather permitting, is my U8 tournament. Then, spring soccer is officially done :( Bummer.
