I forgot to write this earlier.
Last night as we passed the Navy Yard on 95 on the way to the game, the kidlet was oohing and aahing about the ships. Then, he says to me in the most serious voice:
“Mom, how do they float?”
me: “Uh, they just do, they build them to float.”
kidlet: “But they weigh like five million pounds. I don’t weigh anywhere near that and I can’t even float.”
LMAO. Ok, maybe it isn’t funny to you, but it cracked me up. It’s true, he can’t float. Try as he might, he just can’t. The bugger can swim like a damn fish, but he can’t float.
I am so tired this morning.
Last night the kidlet and I had a blast. We were bummed they lost, but it’s only pre-season, so it’s all good!
The experience of just being there, especially because it was the kidlet’s first Eagles game, was just fun. Watching his face light up when the fireworks went off during the National Anthem was fun
Speaking of the National Anthem, this little girl (who might have been about 12) rocked it last night. I had goosebumps like I’ve never had before. My eyes were all misty because I am such a sappy mom. Her mom was down on the field with her and I bet she was all misty too
Seriously though, that kid had some pipes and wowed the whole freaking stadium.
I have to give a big shout out to my friends Jackie & Scott who so graciously gave us their tickets last night because they couldn’t attend. Thank you Jackie and Scott for an amazingly unforgettable experience, we love you! And big props to Jackie who was kind enough to send me alternate directions to avoid the crazy ass traffic along Broad Street and the directions to our seats
*hugs & kisses Jackie*
I am completely exhausted, but it was worth it.
