Back in business…

There was a little glitcheroo here behind the scenes and it’s all good now.
K, so let me bring you up to speed. Yesterday was my twin niece and nephew’s 13th birthday. OMG, I can’t believe they are 13, it just seems like yesterday that I was licking cheerios and sticking them on their little noses and watching them cross their eyes to see the cheerio. Seriously, I did that. I have photographic proof LOL!
They didn’t have a family party, they had a friends party. You see, teenagers are way too cool to invite their relatives to birthday parties now.
Yesterday evening was the cub scout picnic, which was really nice. Lots of good food and good conversation. The boys (and some girl siblings) all played while the parents talked and went over plans for the upcoming year. The weather was perfect!
Today was the kidlet’s first day of school and he told me it was awesome. He said that he really likes his teacher and is really glad that his one friend from his class last year is in his class again this year. He was a little unexcited about the fact that he had music on the first day because they have to play keyboards and recorders. I assured him if I could do it, he could too. I am so not musical. Bless my heart, I tried to play guitar when I was 8 and the flute when I was in 5th grade, but I was not very good at either. I joined chorus in 5th grade because I love to sing. I am much better at singing than playing an instrument :) But, I told him that I was successful at learning the recorder and he will be too.
Tonight was our first U9 practice with the boys. Oy, we have our work cut out for us. But, I, along with my co-coach M, am up to the challenge. The kidlet is the only one on the team that has played at this level before. There is one boy who is brand new to soccer and the rest have just moved up from the U8 level. It’s going to be challenging, but M & I both agree that it’s not about winning for us, it’s about teaching them.
I was a hot mess at the end of practice. The sun was so hot and I, like an idiot, wore my long athletic pants…wtf was I thinking? I’ll tell you, I was thinking it’s usually effing windy up on the field where we practice and there was a breeze blowing at my house when I left. That breeze was no where to be found on the practice field. So I was sweating my ass off the whole 90 minutes of practice. I got my workout tonight for sure!
Now I am home, cleaned up and looking forward to a call from Noogy so we can chat and catch up on each other’s weekend adventures…
