The weekend sure did fly by, huh?
Friday night, the kidlet and I went to the mall. I hate the mall. I am not sure what I hate worse, the rude people who don’t excuse themselves as they hog up the aisles and knock you into the foliage or the 14 and 15 year olds that are walking around pushing their baby strollers. Seriously.
But, I digress.
After a trip through Sears to get the kidlet some new kicks, we were on our way out of the mall and walking past the toy store. I heard oinking and looked over to see this cute little mechanical piggy oinking away. Then, I saw my friend I hadn’t seen in forever coming out of said toy store. We chatted and caught up for a bit, exchanged facebook information and then the kidlet and I left, I needed to be out of there!
Saturday morning the kidlet had a soccer game. It was cold and windy…not my favorite kind of weather. I froze my butt off. My boys lost 5-2. I was bummed, but happy that we didn’t get creamed. We are in a tough division this season. The kidlet had a goal…a shot with his left foot and he bent it like Beckham, no shiznit. He’s right foot dominant, but has been playing the left side of the field and using his left more.
The kidlet’s BFF came over to spend the night and they hung out and played guitar hero and some basketball. I used the new camera to snap some shots of them playing.
These two together crack me up. The BFF is on the quiet side until you get to know him and then, watch out! He’s a good kid.
On Sunday, we got up and headed to Giant to get some cereal, since there wasn’t enough for breakfast. We went in our jammies, ha ha ha! I am not kidding, I rolled out of bed, brushed my hair and pulled it back and off we went. This is why I am hot.
After the BFF went home, the kidlet and I took a nice walk. We brought the camera along to mess around and take some pictures. He was running and jumping and I was snapping away.
Today it was back to work and running around like my ass was on fire. You know what? I don’t like it. I am good with pulling stuff together at the last minute, don’t get me wrong. I just have a strong dislike for people who intentionally wait until the last minute to get things together. I spent most of my morning doing just that. The bossman had an appointment in NYC today and he knew about it Friday. I had plenty of time to get most of it together for him then, but he chose to wait til this morning to let me know what he needed. Irritating.
Tonight was a soccer club executive board meeting and I didn’t want to go. But, since I am on the E-board, I had to go. It ended up being a really good meeting, so I am glad I went.
That’s pretty much the last couple days in a nutshell. Not very exciting, huh?
I need to go do laundry, try not to be jealous of my exciting life, ok?
So, I splurged and bought myself a Rebel XTi and this is my first selfie with it. My hair is a mess, as you will notice. I had just gotten back from the kidlet’s soccer game and my hair was all wind-blown and wild. This is why I am hot.
So, this camera…effing awesome. I have no clue how to work it yet, but I will. I’ve been reading the manual that came with it and I don’t understand most of it, but I will…you just wait. The place I purchased it from gave me some vouchers for free classes through their shop and I plan to take advantage of it.
So far, my favorite thing about this camera is the fact that I can finally capture the action shots. I took a bunch of pictures of the kidlet and his best friend playing basketball this afternoon.
I think I might be obsessed, ha ha ha.
Last night, before soccer, I stopped to get gas in my car. I was wearing my soccer cleats. When I got out of the car, I turned my ankle…badly. My right cleat sort of slid off the concrete pad where it meets the macadam in the gas station. It hurt like a *#(&#)$! (insert VERY bad word here!). I am pretty sure it was caught on the camera at the gas station too…which might come in handy if I sue them…ha ha ha.
Here’s the bad part. I practiced soccer on it, because after I got to practice, it started to feel better…yeah, I am a complete idiot. Then (wait — it gets better) the kidlet and I went to his school open house after practice and I walked all over the school on it. It was a little sore at that point, but not killing me.
Fast forward to this morning where I got up out of bed, late, very, very late, and attempted to walk and almost fell flat on my face. Sweet Jesus, it’s huge and kind of blackish-blueish-purpleish. I managed to gimp down the steps, get the dog out, feed the animals and gimp back up to get ready for work. I wrapped it and just a little bit ago, took off the wrap to check it…it’s still huge and blackis-blueish-purpleish. Crap.
Tonight is cub scouts…one of the moms there is a nurse, I am going to have her look at it and tell me if I should go to the doctor.
I am a tard. Well, at least I didn’t break my kneecap like my sister thinks she did when she fell down roller skating Tuesday night…I am waiting to hear from her, she was going for an xray today.
Yes, we are graceful, you wanna make something of it? At least she did it doing something that doesn’t sound stupid…I was getting gas for goodness sake!
Graceful Gert, signing out!
