holy windstorm batman!

So the weather here sucks today. In the middle of the night it rained, hard. And there was wind, much wind. It woke me up.
Then, this morning, as the kidlet and I were getting ready, there were gale force winds that scared crap out of me! I have never seen wind like that around here, I mean it was nasty. The trees right outside our bedroom windows were swaying like mad. I was praying they didn’t break and land on the roof. My trashcan blew away, but I found it lodged under someone’s bumper down the street. Someone’s trampoline blew into the middle of my street and landed next to my car, it’s all mangled. It didn’t hit my car. Thank goodness. I bet if I had a brand new car, it would have though, ha!
It was nasty and I fully expected to see the wicked witch of the west come pedaling by on her bike yelling “I’ll get you my pretty!”
Looking outside right now, you would never guess it was that nasty. It’s still drizzling out, but the skies look like they are trying to clear up. Crazy.
Last night I spent an exorbitant amount of time on the phone with soccer parents canceling practice. It was supposed to start this evening, but with the torrential downpours throughout the night, the fields will be too mushy. Oh, and until daylight savings time, we won’t have but 20 minutes of daylight. So, we will start next week. I am bummed, but it is what it is.
I also gabbed with Jacks online for a bit and we talked about smoke signals and big hands the size of Macy’s parade floats. Don’t ask, we are not normal ![]()
