happy st. patty’s day

Woo, what a weekend.
I started to blog Friday, and got busy and didn’t get back to finish it. I know it’s still in my saved queue, I may finish it, I may not.
Until I decide, I shall recap my weekend for you.
Friday night the kidlet and I chilled at home. We both had colds and with the way a cold can bring on an asthma attack for him, we just stayed at home in our jammies.
Saturday morning he had his first spring season game. It didn’t go as well as I thought, and that’s ok. Frustrating, but ok. We have boys who are new to this level and they are clueless. Not their fault, mind you, but that’s frustrating to me as a coach and to the other boys who are used to playing at this level with kids who know what’s going on. It’s all good, we will work on that at practice and get the new guys in the groove.
After his game, he was invited to stay at his best friend’s house overnight. I had plans to go out to celebrate St. Patty’s Day. Celebrate we did! We had dinner and then headed out to the tent (which covered the back parking lot. There was a band playing and when they weren’t a DJ was rocking the house. There were pipers who played and gave me the chills…the bagpipes always give me the chills, especially Amazing Grace…I get teary-eyed at that one because it was what the piper played at my grandmother’s funeral.
Anyway, the band was good, the pipers were awesome and the DJ was funny. So many funny things happpened. It seemed like everytime Jacks and I headed for the bathroom, we were in line with the same people. One woman joked that our bladders were all on the same schedule LOL! At one point, I noticed my shoe was untied and this really nice lady tied it for me, she was cool.
We ran into an 8′ leprechaun.

Seriously. This dude was 6′7″ without the hat. He was way cool.
We made friends with the security dude at the door

and he was very cool as well.
Jacks and I put our faces in the Leprechaun cutout thing, here’s me:

We enjoyed adult beverages, got our Irish on, can you tell?

:) We had a blast!
Sunday, I was feeling it too…oy. It hurts more when you are old. HA HA HA! I stayed at Jacks & Scott’s house and woke up at the buttcrack of dawn. I decided to head home, get in my jammies, and chill til it was time to get the kidlet. And that’s what I did.
When he got home, we both chilled for the rest of the evening.
That’s about it. I wish you a safe and happy St. Patty’s Day!
