The Kidlet and I arrived home late last evening and I was too tired to mess with uploading pictures and whatnot.  I got up bright and early today, but got busy around the house and am sitting down now to take a break and update you all.

So, we ate lunch and went to get the bus a little early.  The bus was scheduled to leave the parking lot at 2:00 pm and hit another place to pick up some other people who were going at 2:30.  We departed from that parking lot at around 2:45 and were on our way.  On the way, we watched “The Bee Movie” which I had not seen before.  It’s pretty funny.  As the movie was ending, we were literally pulling into The Meadowlands parking areas.  Can I just tell you how glad I am I was not driving.  Seriously.  I was completely content to be sitting in the air-conditioned luxury bus letting the driver handle that, holla.

Oh, before I go on I have to tell you about these little boys that got on the bus at the second pickup location.  They were both these little blonde-haired, blue-eyed cuties who, apparently, had no idea where they were going until they got in their seats.  Their mother handed the older one a ticket to and you should’ve seen his face.  He jumped about a foot in the air off his seat with excitement when he read the ticket.  It was priceless, let me tell you.  I got a little misty.  I am not kidding.  When he explained to his younger brother why they were on the bus and where they were going, he too squealed with joy.  When their mother asked them who played for the Galaxy, the older one said “Mom, I am too excited to even remember who he is”!  ha ha ha.  Too cute, fo sho.  They were comical the whole ride.  At one point, the younger one said to the older one “I can’t believe we are on a highway and we don’t even need our seatbelts”!  ha ha ha.  The Kidlet and I cracked up on that one.

Ok, back to the parking lot…we got off the comfy air-conditioned bus and walked across the parking lot to the gates.  We got there about 15 minutes prior to them opening the gates so we could go in.  This was my first trip to Giants Stadium and the Kidlet’s too.  Let’s just say, I’ve seen nicer, lol.  We got in line at the gates and waited.  Finally it was time to go in.  I’d like to give a shout out to the super nice girl who scanned our tickets on the way in.  I wish I could’ve read her name tag to give her proper credit, but I couldn’t see one.  Anyway, she was kind and friendly and didn’t act like she was annoyed to be there doing her job, thank you kind stranger, for making the Kidlet and I feel welcome to your stadium and your city, that was a refreshing change.

When we got inside, there was someone (I still have NO IDEA who) signing autographs and they were surrounded by people.  The Kidlet and I wandered over to stand in the (sort of) line that was formed, but I finally had enough of the idiots pushing and shoving to try to get ahead of us and we left.  This one woman is seriously lucky she still has teeth in her mouth…she was the rudest, most obnoxious bitch.  She literally pushed past everyone like she was the frickin’ Queen of England to get to the front.  Karma bitchslapped her though, the girl helping out the autographer told her that she needed to go around to the front where the line was formed.  Eat that you dink.

So, we took the escalator up into the stadium and walked about halfway around the stadium to our section.  Our seats were in slightly to the right behind the goal that the Galaxy shot on the first half.  They were decent seats for the money.  The only bad part was, as the sun went down it was in our eyes for a little.  We sat there for a bit and watched them water down the turf.  Then, we wandered back out to check out the concessions and stuff.  I was thirsty and wanted a cold beverage.  I went with a Diet Pepsi for $4.50.  Ouch.  Seriously, that’s ridiculous.  I didn’t even look to see what beer prices were…eek.

We went back in and some of the Red Bulls players were out on the field stretching and warming up, so the Kidlet and I wandered down to watch.  Their keeper was warming up.  He was decent.  It was fun to watch them.  There was this guy shooting on goal who was doing some rather fancy schmancy footwork and the Kidlet was all “Whoa, he rocks”!  I told him if he keeps on practicing, he could one day “rock” as well :)   We stood there a few minutes until I couldn’t really stand being in the hot sun anymore and then we wandered back up to our seats.  It wasn’t too long after that that some of the Galaxy players came out on the field to warm up.  Beckham wasn’t one of them.

Eventually though, he did come out and the crowd went wild.  ha ha ha!  According to MLS.com, yesterday’s game attendance was the highest single game attendance in MLS this year, holla.  We were part of MLS history :)   So we sat and watched Bex warm up.  Yowza.  He was ant-sized, but I don’t care…we saw him live.  It was pretty cool.  I literally almost peed my pants when I first spotted him.  I mean, I knew he was out there based on the crowd, but I couldn’t find him right away. Once I figured out which one was him, I watched him…like a stalker.  LMAO!  We were enjoying watching both teams warm up and then, it happened.  What always happens to the Kidlet.  No matter where we go, no matter where we sit, it always happens.  Yeah, I am talking about that huge dude who comes in and plops in the seat right in front of him.  The guy he cannot see over.  Yeah that guy.  It was too funny not to take a picture of.  So, the Kidlet looks at me, rolls his eyes in the “oh-goody-the-really-tall-guy-I-can’t-see-over-just-sat-in-front-of-me-again” way and we changed seats, like we always do :)   All was good again.  But then, ten minutes later, one of our busmates and her son came and the mom sat right in front of the Kidlet and once again his view was blocked…buuuuuuuuut, check it.  The son, who noticed that his mom was blocking the Kidlet’s view, told his mom to switch seats with him.  Mad props to that boy, Aaron, for being so considerate and to his mother, Tammy, for raising such a considerate young man :)   The Kidlet and I both thanked them both for it.  And, for the rest of the game, we chatted in between plays.  They were cool.

Taking pictures the rest of the game was almost impossible.  The sun was in our eyes, the giant in front of me kept standing up, I had food to eat, and barbecue sauce to wipe off the Kidlet’s shirt after he dumped it down the front of him in the excitement of the Galaxy’s first gooaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllll!  So, I put my camera away and just watched.

There were Red Bulls fans behind us.  The loud-mouthed, smack-talking, obnoxious types that give all New Yorkers bad names.  I had to bite my tongue more than once so I didn’t turn around and get in an altercation with this dude.  He kept going on and on and on about how overrated Beckham was and how he wasn’t worth the money the Galaxy paid for him and how he loves to make fun of little kids who like Beckham and on and on and on.  He was a complete dooshbag.  At one point, he screamed (in my ear no less) BECKHAM YOU SUCK!  Nice, huh?  His friend said “Dude, there’s kids right there” and he said, “I don’t care”.  Niiiiiiiiiiice.   It was toward the end of the game, and the Kidlet and I were getting ready to get up to leave.  I seriously wanted to say something, but I was pretty sure my temper would get out of control and I would get arrested.  And, if I was getting arrested at the Galaxy game, it was gonna be for something good like chasing Beckham across the pitch, not giving some a-hole New Yorker a mouthful of bloody chiclets, but I digress.  I was the bigger person, I let him continue to make an ass out of himself, he was very good at it.  I am sorry to all the decent New Yorkers out there.  This idiot really did make you all look horrible.  You can all thank the jerk in Section 119, Row 36, Seat 20 for that.

So, we went out, got on our nice cool bus and headed for home.  I was so glad (again) I wasn’t the one driving.  The traffic was crazy!  We had a blast and can’t wait to catch another game.  We are even more excited that Philly gets their own MLS team in 2010!  WOO!

That’s right, today I get to see my boyfriend.  I can’t tell you how excited I am.  I don’t care that it’s almost as hot as the fires of hell outside today.  I don’t care that I will have to sit on an uncomfortable seat in said hotness.  I will get to see David Freaking Beckham play soccer today.  Oh, and so will the kidlet, lol.  I can’t wait for him to watch a profession match.  Minus the drama that can sometimes happen on the field to draw fouls and cards, I want him to see how triangular passing works in the game so he can use that when he’s playing.

I hope our seats are decent enough that I can get some good pictures.  I promise to post some :)

In other news, my balsamic chicken the other day was a hit with the kidlet.  He liked it so much he wanted to know if I could make more sometime.  He also informed me that I should cook with the crockpot more often, lol!  I am going to do the lemon chicken chicken tomorrow, however, instead of garlic, I am going to use dill.  I love lemon and dill together.  I will let you know how it goes :)

I got my new phone.  At first, I wasn’t sure how I was gonna like it.  I was so used to my old phone.  My old phone was just a phone…not a smartphone.  I was carrying around my phone and my PDA and I wanted one device.  Now I’ve got that.  I figured out how to delete the nerdy ringtones that came pre-programmed on the phone and add mp3 ringtones.  Thank goodness.  I have all my old ringtones that I had set up on the old phone.  Each person has their own ringtone and I love that.  When I set up the software on my computer, I added a photo to each person’s contact page and then after hotsyncing, the picture comes up when that person calls.  WOO!  Not only do I know who’s calling by the tone, but I see their lovely mug as well :)    I love how the text messaging stays in a chat window form so that I can follow the conversation.  Tres cool.  Ooooh, and it’s GREEN!  It’s called Azure Green and I likey.  Ok, but probably the best part about it is now I have a QWERTY keyboard.  Can I just mention how much better texting is with that?  Seriously.  I liked texting before, I FREAKING LOVE TEXTING NOW!  So, if you are getting more texts from me now, that’s why, ha ha ha.  It’s just easier and faster with that handy dandy little keyboard.  Yeah, I am a nerd, so?   Oh, and I pretty much don’t care if TMP, who has an iPhone, thinks that the Treo is “ewwww”.  Kiss my butt, I like it.  I am not one of those that has to have the best of everything.  I don’t care that I am not driving a brand new car.  I don’t care that I don’t have an iPhone or an iPod.  The “latest and greatest” material things don’t define me.  I personally like the fact that people like me for me and not what I drive or own.  Materialistic, “look at me I have the >insert overpriced gadget/vehicle/whatever here< I am so much better than you” people make me ill.  Woo, sorry for that mini rant, lmao, it had to be said.

The kidlet and I went to see “The Dark Knight” last night.  It was really good.  I couldn’t help but feel a little sad when Heath Ledger first appeared on the screen.  He did an amazing job in the film.  It’s a bummer that he won’t get to see the finished product and possibly an award for his work.  :(

Ok, I am off.  I need to finish up some laundry and stuff before the kidlet and I have to meet the bus for the game…yes, we are going charter people, woo!  I will update later if I am not too tired when we get home.

Peace.
