I can’t watch Biden and Palin, I just can’t. Listening to Palin speak makes me want to gouge my eyes out with a caviar fork and pull my eardrums out with hot dog tongs. I am not kidding. Her I-sound-like-I’m-from-Minnesota-for-cryin’-in-the-mud-dontcha-know voice irritates me. It kinda sucks too, cause my friend Steve imed me earlier with a link to “Palin Bingo” and I wanted to play. But I just can’t stand listening to her.
Ok, I am done with that.
Let’s see, so what has happened since the last time I wrote?? The Kidlet played in three soccer games last weekend and was victorious in all three. One game on Saturday with his U11 team. It was rainy and he had a blast playing on our turf field in the rain. Boys are weird.
On Sunday, he had an early afternoon game with his U10 team and scored two goals. In that game, we had just enough players to play a 7v7 game. So, those 7 players got to play the entire game. The Kidlet played one of the best games I have seen him play. Hell, they all did. There were two kids that made some of the most amazing goal saves on defense when the goalie came out to play the ball and it got past him. All the boys stepped up to the plate, gave 110% and kicked butt. I NEVER pace the sideline. I paced that game. And, I bit all my nails down. It was THAT good of a game. Seriously.
Sunday evening, his U11 team played under the lights on the turf field. It was another good game. My kid is fast, I never realized how fast til someone pointed it out as he was sprinting up the field to catch up to an opposing player to try to win the ball. He gets it from me *snort*. After his game that night, he felt sick in the stomach. I thought it was because he was hungry. He ate something and said he felt better.
Around 4:30 am on Monday morning, he was standing next to my bed complaining that his stomach hurt, his throat was sore and he had a headache. I checked his temp and he was feverish…I gave him some ibuprofen and told him that if he wasn’t feeling any better when it was actually time to get up, I would keep him home and call the doctor. When we got up, he wasn’t better, he stayed home. I called the doctor and got an appointment. The doctor diagnosed post-nasal drippage and said if he didn’t get better to bring him back in. Tuesday, he was no better, still feverish, stayed home.
His fever was gone by late Tuesday night so he was able to go to school Wednesday, which delighted him to no end </sarcasm>
I can’t believe tomorrow is Friday already, seriously. I swear it was just Monday.
Oh, and I can’t believe it’s October. Gah. That means the countdown to Christmas has started…
