Because I was up to my ears in work and then had a sick kidlet to tend to last evening.

I finally got a break so here I am to fill you in.  Ok where to start.  Friday night, yes, let’s start there.  Friday night I usually chill at home because my week is usually hectic.  I look forward to Friday night and just chilling out.  Yuyi called me Friday night and we needed to meet about the game the next morning and I needed to give her her coaches’ pass.  So, she came over and we hung out outside and chatted a while.  It was beautiful out.  As we are talking out in front of my house, there was a huge group of heathens I mean teenagers in the alley behind my house making all kinds of noise.  It was getting late and there is a curfew in my ‘hood.  It was past that time and there were clearly no adults with them.  Yuyi called the police after we heard them throwing rocks against a building or something.  The police showed up and there were about 25 kids they had to talk to.  Eek.  Then, an officer stopped by my house to talk to me.  She’s my favorite one.  Oh, yes, that’s right, we know each other from all the times I have had to call the friggin’ police because of crap that goes on at the end of my block.  I thought living on a dead end street would be great…not so much, it’s the perfect place for people to do things they shouldn’t be doing.  After Yuyi left, I worked on an ad to sell my car on craigslist.  I posted the ad the next day and literally had about 35 emails about it.  More on that later.

Saturday our soccer game was insane.  It was hotter than, well I don’t know what it was hotter than, it was effing hot, that’s all I know.  The boys were feeling it too.  One of them doubled over on the field and said he thought he was gonna puke.  MOK had a bee fly up in his shirt and got stung…he assured me he wasn’t allergic.  He was.  I signaled for his mother across the field and she literally made it around to benchside in like 2.5 seconds with benadryl and an epi pen.  I felt bad.  She assured me it was ok, that he just swells up…eek.  Anyway, I called him later in the day to check on him and he was fine, no after effects and he didn’t swell up, whew!

After soccer, my daddio came over to help me fix my mower.  I couldn’t get it to stay running.  I fiddled with it a little, but have never fixed a mower, so I didn’t want to mess it up.  We determined there must’ve been water in my gas and my dad had to take my mower to his house to finish fixing it.  Gah.  It’s always fun working on something with my dad.  He renames parts.  Like, we had at least four sonofabitches…he’s say “Squirt (yeah, I am 38 and he STILL calls me by my childhood nickname he gave me), where’s that sonofabitch I just took off the damn carburetor”?  Heh.  I found the sonofabitch and we put it back on, don’t worry.

Saturday night, I answered email after email after email about my aforementioned car ad on craigslist.  I had someone ask to come look at it on Sunday.  We set up a time.  After that, I went to bed, I was fricking beat!

Sunday morning, I got up and went out to start the car and clean some soccer equipment out of it.  I also dug out the title, just in case.  The buyers showed up and looked over the car and made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.  They also had a friend did the paperwork that day for us.  I was a little sad to see Ophelia go.  I asked the new buyer if I could have a minute with her to say goodbye…I am dead serious.  I had my moment, gave her a kiss goodbye and left.  I have a thing about naming and getting attached to my vehicles.  I am not normal.  I miss Ophie a lot.  It’s weird looking out my front window and not seeing here there…

After that, the kidlet and I stopped at the local animal shelter…I never got Rudy’s dog license (smack my hand!) and I thought they were open on a Sunday.  They aren’t.  But, there were many people there working and I went up to this barn area to ask the woman there if there was another place to go get my dog license.  She nexteled another employee and asked if she would come out front to sell me a license and the girl said sure!  I went in and bought my license.  She didn’t have access to the key for the drawer to give me change…I told her to keep the change as a donation.  It wasn’t much, and I wish I could’ve given more.  But, every little bit helps, right?

Remember the barn I mentioned in the last paragraph?  Ok, well, there are turkeys there.  A HUGE male and a female.  Well, the female apparently took a liking to me, because she followed me down from the barn and was hanging around nearby my car when the kidlet and I were getting ready to leave.  I literally couldn’t move the car because she was standing behind my car.  So, I leaned out the window and started talking to her.  I kept saying “Turkey girl, I have to leave, you need to move so I don’t squish you.”  She would “talk” back to me.  I am dead serious.  Every time I would say something to her, I would get a response back from her, LMAO!  I snapped a picture of her:

Later on, the kidlet and I decided to get some lunch.  We went to Friendly’s.  I like Friendly’s.  I don’t like the music they play there though.  I decided at some point to sing along to the songs they were playing, they are oldies.  The kidlet dared me for a dollar to sing loud enough for the whole restaurant to hear.  I will pretty much do anything for a dollar.  Hell, I can’t remember now what the song was, but the parts I knew, I belted them out…people looked…the kidlet sunk down in his seat…two ladies a couple booths away giggled.  Then, “Under the Boardwalk” came on and the ladies a couple booths away started singing that and I joined it.  It was hilarious.  I am pretty sure that everyone in the place thought I had escaped from the mental ward…meh, I don’t care, me and the kidlet had fun.  Our waitress sucked butt though, and I tipped her accordingly.

After lunch (and a show) we went to my parents’ house where my sister and mother were hosting a Tastefully Simple party.  Like we really needed more food after our lunch, but whatever.  We tasted everything.  The kidlet wanted to buy everything but we settled on a couple things and he can’t wait til they come in.

He asked me if after the party, we could go rent him a game for his playstation and I said sure.  So, we left the party and as we started to make our way to the video store, about a half a mile away, the sky opened up and it was raining like I haven’t seen in a long time.  TORRENTIAL downpour.  Crazy.  When we got to the video store, I suggested that instead of trying to run in flip flops in the pouring rain into the store, we take said flip flops off and carry them.  We did and we ran and splashed in the puddles.  Had it not been cold out, that would’ve been fun.  It wasn’t Antarctica cold, but it wasn’t warm either.  A few people gave us some strange looks (I am so used to that!) some laughed at our dumb asses…we didn’t care, we ran and splashed.  We resembled drowned rats when we walked into the video store.  The kidlet picked out his games (they were twoferone) and off we went to run back through the puddles while holding our flip flops.

When we got in the car, we were seriously soaking wet.  Blech.  When we got home, we both got into some dry clothes and he went to play his game and I went to do some laundry.  I think he got the better end of that deal :)

So that’s pretty much my weekend in a HUGE ASS nutshell…what did you guys do?

I don’t know why, but I am hooked on chicken fingers.  I love them.  Yesterday, I had them for lunch at Friendly’s.  I had a lunch meeting with the VP and a rep from one of the financial companies we do business with and I had to have the chicken fingers.

Right now, I am craving them…big time.  No, I am not pregnant, I just go through these phases where I really really really want something and I eat it all the time and then it’s gone.  Guess what I am going to have for lunch today?  Yep, chicken fingers :)   I have to do banking and my bank is conveniently located near the Dairy Queen, who, btw, has very good chicken fingers!

Ok, enough food talk, my mouth is watering.

This week has flown by.  I didn’t think it would by the way it started, but hell, it’s Friday already! w00t!

I got a strange text from my boss’ son yesterday.  Yes, his son sends me text messages.  The boss doesn’t text, so if his son needs to tell him something important he sends a text to me (while he’s in school mind you) and I relay the message to the boss.  The text yesterday was hilarious.  Long story short, his son is a senior and a standout wrestler, apparently one of the wrestlers took a crap in the shower and the whole wrestling team (are they a team or a squad, hell if I know) was to stay after school for a meeting.  Ew, gross.  I almost fell off my chair laughing when I got the text, because bossman’s son didn’t say crap, he said “so and so took a shit in the shower…” gross.

It snowed yesterday and driving home was interesting.  People were sliding all over the effing place.  What is it with people?  Seriously aholes, when there is slush/ice/snow/frozen precipitation on the ground, you should slow the eff down and take your time and NOT RIDE MY GD BUMPER!  I nearly got my front end taken off by some jackass in a Lexus SUV.  As I was dropping off my FedEx and UPS stuff at the mailing center, some dipshit in a Volvo nearly backed into me because he failed to LOOK BEHIND HIM BEFORE STARTING TO BACK UP!

The snow was pretty to look at, sure, but I still hate it :)

I am glad it’s Friday, whoo doggy.  As mentioned in a prior post, I am going to basket bingo tonight with my mother and the kidlet.  The kidlet is pretty excited.  The nerd likes bingo :)

I am starving…I can’t wait to get my chicken fingers!
